Work-Based Learning

Resources for Students & Job Seekers

The purposes of work-based learning are to 1) build your awareness of potential careers, 2) facilitate your exploration of career opportunities, and 3) begin your preparation for careers. It is an introduction to industries, occupations, and potential careers.

No matter what your career goals might be, you should take advantage of activities that help you make well-informed career choices. Work-based learning offers you an opportunity to learn about, through and for work. It allows you to build social capital and a network of adults who can help once you are out of school.

Below are a number of resources for students and job seekers who want to learn more, understand the process and find opportunities.  If you have questions, talk to a teacher or instructor – or contact us. We have relationships with employers around Northern New Mexico and may be able to help you connect to them.
